- Effectively protects against premature wear of the relay contacts of switching actuators caused by high inrush currents
- The lifetime of a conventional incandescent lamp can be extended while at the same time the switching relay of an actuator is protected
- Flexible mounting is possible thanks to the compact design
The eQ-3 inrush current limiter reliably protects switching actuators and switches from wear by limiting the inrush current. Electric loads usually require higher current on power-up than during subsequent operation. The high current can lead to high temperatures at contacts of push-buttons, switches or relays and, in worst case, to welding of the contact surfaces. With the eQ-3 inrush current limiter, the inrush current is reduced and thus the lifetime of switching actuators, push-buttons, switches as well as connected loads is significantly extended. With its compact dimensions, the device comfortably fits into flush-mounted boxes, where it can be connected in series between the switch or actuator output and the loads. Operation of the eQ-3 inrush current limiter is possible for loads of up to 200 VA and is protected against overload by an integrated fuse. The inrush current limiter is ideal to protect Homematic IP switching actuators in connection with LED lamps, shutter actuators and other loads against wear.
